Carbon Literacy Training

A one-day accredited programme to help you understand climate change AND what you can do about it

Carbon Literacy is “an awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis” (Carbon Literacy Project).

The Carbon Literacy Project was set up to give everyone, everywhere, a day of training on carbon literacy, so that they can start making shifts to help us move towards a sustainable future. Businesses and individuals taking part in our accredited Carbon Literacy training programme can expect to emerge up-skilled and motivated to reduce their carbon impact both at work and in their personal lives.

In this day of training, we will take your team through five “steps” to Carbon Literacy:

  • The basics of climate change
  • Climate equity + carbon footprints
  • Achieving a zero-carbon future
  • Becoming change agents
  • Taking action in your organisation

These will make you feel more confident, hopeful and able to make a difference as they learn about:

  • Fundamental science behind human-induced climate change
  • Individual and organisational carbon footprints and emissions
  • What we can do as individuals and teams to reduce our footprint
  • Net zero: what it is and how we can achieve it
  • How climate action can improve social equality and economic stability
  • How to communicate about the climate crisis
  • Climate inequity and historic emissions
  • To identify and develop the skills and values needed to advocate for change

We recommend:
Consider coupling this session with a custom-designed Agile, problem-solving, risks and opportunities, or strategic planning workshop to keep the momentum going and bring further insights into your business.
